Dear Mª Lluïsa Pintó,

I’m sending this letter to you because I disagree with some aspects of this High School. I would like you to reflect about this letter and change some things.

On the one hand, I know that this High School has been selected as one of the safest institutes of Spain. And it’s true that the level of our High School is high, but I think that our institute could be better. It’s only my opinion but, maybe, if the High School was more colorful and more cheerful the level of the students would rise. The walls are gray, the floor is gray, the doors are gray, nearly everything is gray! You should find a solution to this problem.

On the other hand, the problem isn’t only the color of the walls. For example, the toilets don’t have mirrors. Only the teachers’ toilets have mirrors and it’s unfair. We won’t draw in the mirror because we need it, I’m talking about girls. Another problem is that almost every time I go to the toilet there isn’t paper. Maybe it isn’t the most important problem, but it has got an easy solution.

There are other problems, like low speed internet, but I think that I’ve explained the most important ones for me.

Thank you so much for your attention. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,

Núria Sala

Our Presentation is about Jamaica, also called Land of Springs or "Land of Wood and Water" in the indigenous language.

That’s an introduction about the important facts. It’s an island situated in the Caribbean Sea, in the south are Cuba, and at west are Hispaniola. The capital is Kingston, it’s one of the largest cities. About the religion, Christianity is the largest religion about 24%. The official language is English and the population are nearly 3 million people. 91.% are black,

The govermanent is a Government Parliamentary democracy and Constitutional monarchy. The monarch is Queen Elizabeth the second and in America it’s the thirth populousanglophone country.

Okay, this is the flag of Jamaica, with the colours green, yellow and black . And here you can see the island of Jamaica. This is the currency of Jamaica. It’s the dollar, the Jamaican dollar. And here you can see an hotel, the landscape.

And the music. Reggae is the most popular genre there. It was created in the 1990s. It is a mixture of reggae or with elements of other genres such as hip hop, R&B, jazz, rock 'n roll or indie rock and others. We found it interesting that the precursor of reggae was ska and was created in the 1950s.

Bob Marley is the idol of the reggae music . He is a singer and songwriter and you can hear some of his songs in the background. He was a vegetarian. He had got eleven children, and one of them singed now, he’s called Damian.

I’m going to talk about Jamaican sports. The most important sport is athletics. Jamaica has got the most important team in the world. Usian Bolt is the best on the Earth. He has the record of the 100 and 200 meters. When he was a child he began to play football on the street, but now he is the best in athletics.

In Jamaica athletic is important because school have an athletic programme in the curriculumand children begin to practise it very early.

Another sports in Jamaica are football and rugby. Football are practised in the streets and it’s also important. Here there are many photos . He is Usian Bolt. And here are the woman of Jamaica. He had won a medal of football I think.

Some curiosities about the island the Rastafari movement has 24,020 adherents. The principal idea from them is to legalize Cannabis.

And Ian Fleming, who is the autor of books and films of James Bond setting there, in the island, a lot of films.

The primary industries are agriculture, fishing because it’s an island , foresty and mining

There are also a lot of tourism because there comes a lot of people to see the beach, good weather and to see the Rastafarian ideology.

Okay, we found it interested that Jamaica has one of the highest murder rate in the world. There is a lot of violence and crime because If you want to buy a gun you can do it very easy. Specially in Kingston there are a lot of murders and crime. We found out that Jamaica attacks again gay people. For that Jamaica is called the most homophonic place on the earth. By the way, when we were doing our exposition on the computer a virus came. So Jamaica has attack us with the internet.

Here are some photos. Yes, there you can see that gays are very, not killed, but hated in Jamaica. And that’s the typical image.

There are a lot of crime, but don’t worry be happy!

Carnival ‘11

This year, like every year, we have celebrated carnaval in Roses and St Pere Pescador. It was the last weekend. On Friday we went in Roses and on Saturday we went to St Pere. I’m going to talk about these two nights.

On Friday I had volleyball training so I arrived at the party too late. At first we stayed and danced with the floats and later we went to the dancing in the Roses’ principal square. There I was with Andrea and Lydia and we took a lot of photos of us, maybe there are two hundred photos.

After that I went with Sandra and other Roses’ friends and they invited us to a drink. We stayed a lot of time with them, although all the night. Then Sandra’s brother came and we went back to home. I think it was at five o’clock in the morning.

On Saturday I arrived in St Pere early so I spent a lot of time with the floats. Later we went to the dancing and there I met a lot of people that I didn’t see for a lot of time. I talked with them and we did more photos. I didn’t dance a lot on Saturday because the music wasn’t very good but the night was great.

I went home at five o’clock again and when I arrived I had breakfast and immediately I went to play a volleyball match in Lleida. I’d never played worse then that day jajaj.

In conclusion, it was the photos’ weekend.

Kid Cudi vs. Crookers - Day 'n' Night

This song is called Day and Night. Its singer is Kid Cudi.

I want to dedicate this song to Andrea Lopez.

She is one of the most important people in my life, along with Sandra, Julia, Lydi and Anna, but Andrea always has a smile on her lips and the perfect phrase because I laugh during an hour.

I dedicate this song to Andrea because one day while we were doing the research project in my house, we heard this song. We invented a choreography. First we movied the shady, then we moved our head (first right and then left), then we moved our head and our arms, and finally we stood up the chair and we danced like a crazy people.

That day I laughed a lot, and I want to thank Andrea for all the happy moments she has given to me all times and the all times that she has helped me when I need it. So, thanks Andrea.

Stress

In this writing I’m going to talk about stress in the high school.

At the end of every term all the studens are very stressed. Teachers wait until the end of the term to chose the day of the exam or to put the work or the writings and oral presentations.

I think my High School is great in this aspect because

, for example, they say the date of the deliever of the blogs at the begining of the term. And another good thing of mi school is that you can’t have two exams in one day.

But, of course, there are bad things. Some teachers pu a lot of homework for the following day because they say that we only do two classes of their subject. It’s not my fault!

Other problem is the weeks at the end of the term. This term we have two weeks with an exam every day. Ten days with exams! We have done the first week and now we are in holidays. But when we’ll come back at school, this last week will be horrifying.

This weekend is Carnival so we won’t study a lot, and on Monday I have a Philosophy exam at the first hour of class (I want to die.. jajaj).

I tell you my exams:

Monday à Philosophy

Tuesday à Oral presentation of a work in Ciències per el Món Contemporani (CMC)

Wednesday à Chemestry

Thursday à Physics

Friday à Catalan

A lot of exams and they are very difficult. Now I’m on holiday so I’m not stressed but I know the following week I will be the most stressed person in the world I think.

Wish me luck.

A film.

I would like to talk about the SAW saga. It constists of seven films. You can see the last film of SAW now in the cinemas.

Saw saga is very hated for a lot of people but I like it very much. I have seen the first, the second, the third and the fourth film and I have the fifth film in the computer, I will see it very early.

The films are very sadistics. The protagonist is Jigsaw (Puzzle), he is an old man with cancer who kidnaps people that don’t live their live good (loose, thieves, abusers, etc.). He puts them in a room and he for example, tie the woman’s hair with a machine and the machine stretches the hair until the woman dies bleeded. It’s only an example, in this films you can see worse things.

Then there are a group of polices that look for Jigsaw and they try to stop this tortures, but although they find Jigsaw the kidnaps don’t stop. Jigsaw has got an accomplice called Amanda.

I don’t know why I like them but I will see all the saga, I’m sure. Alone or with friends. Two days ago I watch the fourth film alone at home, it seems that I must be very scared but I enjoyed watching it. It strange, it isn’t the tipic film or the tipic american comedy.

My motorbike.

A long time ago my parents asked me if I would like to have a motorbike.
- I don't need a motorbike but if you want to buy one for me it would be great!- I said. I had never stopped to think if I wanted a motorbike.

One week ago my parents were on the computer and I were watching TV. I was a little bit bored so I went to see what were they doing. When I arrive they closed the computer's screen.
- What are you doing? - I said.
- Nothing, nothing.- said my parents.
At that moment I began to suspect that my parents were plotting something.

Two days later they showed me a photo of a scooter, and two days later I found a scooter in my garage.

The scooter is white and it has got some flowers' stickers in the wheel. I was very very very very and very happy. At the top of the motorbike there was a helmet. The helmet is white and it has got an inscription that says: Kiss me lollipop.

I was so excited and I didn't think twice. I get on the bike with my father and I drove a motorbike for the first time in my life! Yes, I know it is forbiden because I don't have my motorbike licence yet but I was but I really wanted to do it.

My birthday.

In my last birthday I celebrated my sixteen years old birthday. Quim, a friend of mine, is one day older than me so we celebrated our birthday together. My friends and I went to a chinese restaurant to have dinner. We tried to don’t do a lot of noise but it’s imposible. We were

always laughing and joking with the waiters (I know we shouldn’t do it).

We go to the same chinese restaurant often so they know us. A lot of people don’t like chinese food (me included) but we eat meat and chips. It’s strange eat it in a chinese restaurant.

Finnaly they gave my some presents. They bought one trousers, one T-shirt, a scarf of Barça, gloves (because I go to the High School every day by motrobike

and winter is so cold) and a green jumper.

After dinner we went to Pacha in Empuriabrava. It was the firts time I went to a disco. That day there wasn’t a lot of people but it was good. I enjo

yed a lot that night. We danced, laughed, drank and we did silly things.

I remember that that night was a little bit crazy. Lydia made advances with a boy. But it only lasted one night. She wasn’t the only person that made advances, my friends are very ladies’ man.

I arrived at home at five o’clock on the morning with Sandra. She slept at home. We ate a pizza at five o’clock! I had never done it!

Later we went to my room and we talked a little bit before we went to the beds.

The night was so great.

MY FUTURE.

This months we have gone to two universities, “Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)” and “Universitat de Girona (UdG)”. There some teachers did talks for all the catalan students. In UAB I went to a Maths’ talk where a teacher always said that UAB is the best university in Catalonia and we have to go there. He didn’t explain a lot of the degree course. He did an experiment about calculators and I didn’t understand anything.

This talk desperate me and now I don’t know if I really want to study Maths.

Later I went to another talk. This time I went to a Physics talk. The teacher was good, he explained the parts of the degree and the subjects. He said that it is very difficult and that you must be good at Maths and Physics in High School if you want to study Physics.

At the end of the day I was a little bit sad because I thought (and I continue thinking) the degree is too much difficult for my. I’m not a crack in Maths, and I’m less crack in Physics. I like them but maybe I’m not capable to do them in the university.

Another day we went to the UdG. I went to a talk of Biotechnology. I went there becouse I didn’t like any talk and biotechnology was the only that I like a little bit.

The talk was very good. When I left the class I was interested in biotechnology! The day was perfect and when we finished the talk we went to sunbathe at the ground.

The day was great but I arrived at home more lost than ever.

Now I didn’t know what I have to do. I like Maths and Physics, but I think I’m not so good to study it. Biology.. I like it but I think it’s a little bit boring, but maybe it is more easy. I’m very lost and probably next year I will continue being lost.
